4/05/2011 · The text looks fine within Indesign but shifts when using Press Ready export settings. I can successfully export the file when using PDF X1A: 2001 but all other settings cause the test shift. I have exported the file as IDML and reopened and same thing. I have changed fonts and same results as well. Additionaly I have reproduced this issue with multiple documents.

I have a fairly large Indesign file with a text field that needs to have a different text for each client. The name of the client must come in the text field. When I have for example 100 clients, I want to automaticly export 100 PDF’s and each PDF has its own custom text in that field. The name of the client must be appended to the filename of the exported PDF.

I tried exporting to PDF then to JPG but this still is not a good solution. The text is still blurry. So the problem lies with the compression of the file since it occurs from an export from PDF

Of course if you export a PDF/X-4 you will be exposed to different interpretations for the transparencies and color conversions, and the results can be different depending on the device that will interpret the PDF. I think this is what is happening to your file.
